exterior
We
had active boaters in mind when designing the MD Buzzards Bay .
Those who like to fish, scuba dive, kayak, or just lounge on the
hook, will find the Buzzards Bay extremely versatile.
cockpit
With
its large open cockpit (7 feet long by 11 feet wide) she has the
room to be customized for any number of activities. Good gunwale
height gives extra security and support above the knee for working
fish or handling lines. A proper toe kick all around the cockpit
allows the person to step right up to the gunwale, easing lower
back pressure.
Cockpit
stowage is more than adequate via the two large hatches in the back
of lounge seat. Outboard models have the advantage of the hull space
below becoming two huge lazzarettes. No motorcycles in here please!
swim
platform
The
swim platform measures 2' deep and 11' wide. It is accessed from
the cockpit via two transom doors. Flooding of the cockpit thru
the transom doors, a risk on many vessels, is minimized by the Buzzards
Bay's high freeboard, providing a cockpit height approximately 22"
above the waterline, which is 4 times the height of typical vessels.
side
decks and bow
Going
forward to secure the anchor or simply to enjoy the Buzzards Bay's
vast fore-deck is made safer by wide side decks, stout safety railing,
and additional handrails mounted to the pilot house overhead.
