safety
MD
Buzzards Bay owners are more likely to head beyond the normal cruising
grounds, a bit farther away from touches of society. Fortunately,
the MD Buzzards Bay has greater levels of safety than conventional
boats to match its adventurous spirit.
Don't
put all your eggs in one basket
The
Buzzards Bay 33's twin hull form increases safety by the power of
two. Two hulls for excellent flood control. Two separate machinery
spaces for redundancy in critical propulsion systems. Two engines
with single engine performance that is anything but conventional.
Try 20 knot's on one engine with excellent tracking and steering
control. Buzzards Bay 33 owners often run one engine to improve
their fuel efficiency.
Useful
Speed
Speed
without comfort and control is useless. The Buzzards Bay 33OB and
33TD display such poise at speed that owners find themselves traveling
at much faster rates than they first anticipated. This easy speed
allows you to comfortably get out of or avoid adverse conditions.
With today's easy access to real time weather information on board,
a prepared Buzzards Bay 33 owner will find it increasingly easy
to avoid getting "caught out in it".
The Buzzards Bay 33's excellent high-speed comfort and control make
completely waiting out a storm a very acceptable alternative, with
the knowledge that all lost time can be made up quickly by traveling
a little faster in calm. Making time: that's an ability that trawler
owners just don't have.
Flood
Control
Our
boats have a distinct advantage over all mono-hulls because we spread
our buoyancy needs over two hulls which are widely spaced apart.
In most every case of impact, only one hull is likely to be damaged,
leaving the other intact, providing stability and protection of
the propulsion system. Within each hull, individual buoyancy compartments
limit the extent that flooding can occur, with secure crash compartments
forward, and sealed bilges running most of the hulls length.
The
MD Buzzards Bay. A safer boat for your world. Today
and tomorow.
